Tire Discounters enters car wash market
With the acquisition of Carriage House Car Wash, Tire Discounters is entering the car wash market. The Carriage House washes are mainly based in and around Cincinnati.
Tire Discounters is a tire and auto service shop started by Chip Wood in 1976 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, it ranks as the eighth largest independent tire dealer in the U.S.
Carriage House Car Wash currently runs 7 car washes in and around Cincinnati. They both have express washes and, what they call, ‘neighborhood washes’.
Both companies are fully family-owned.
Valuable addition
According to Steve Wood of Tire Discounters, the acquisition “is a valuable addition to the portfolio of Wood Family Brands. “Carriage House pushes Tire Discounters into an exploding automotive segment, while also providing us with end-to-end customer solutions.”
Tire Discounters plan to expand the car wash business quickly, growing to 20 car wash outlets across the Cincinnati area in the next two years. Wood and his team will also be evaluating additional markets beyond Cincinnati and the possibility of co-locating Carriage House at Tire Discounters locations.
According to Justin Stone, Carriage House co-founder “this partnership is a key step in positioning the brand for significant growth into the future.”
