Whitecap Car Wash, owned by Floyd Properties, LLC of Florence, S.C., has opened its doors in Birmingham, Alabama after the City Council granted an exception to the citywide car wash moratorium. This decision – reached on August 27th – allowed Whitecap to open its completed construction project at 7724 Crestwood Boulevard in the Eastwood Mall area.

The new facility has already hired 18 employees, contributing to the local economy and bringing jobs to the area. Whitecap Car Wash aims to deliver an exceptional car wash experience, combining advanced technology with top-notch customer service. “Our commitment to Birmingham is strong,” said Justin Hendley, COO of Whitecap Car Wash. “We believe in the potential of this location and are excited to become part of the community. In the past year, we’ve successfully opened five new car washes, and this latest addition in Birmingham underscores our dedication to growth and quality. This exception by the City Council allows us to continue our mission of providing outstanding car care to our customers.” Whitecap Car Wash’s new location is adjacent to Captain D’s and will serve residents in the Irondale, Eastwood Mall area of Birmingham, and beyond.

The moratorium, initially passed in March and recently extended for an additional 90 days, was implemented due to concerns about the proliferation of car washes and their impact on traffic and public safety. However, Whitecap Car Wash was granted an exception after demonstrating that over 70 percent of its investment had already been completed when the moratorium was enacted. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Whitecap Car Wash to the Birmingham community,” said Farrah Warren, Site Manager for Whitecap Car Wash. “Our team has been hard at work ensuring that this location will offer the highest quality service, and we’re confident it will be a great addition to Birmingham.”
