Driverless truck destroys car wash
In the US town of Chadron, a whole wash bay of the Hi-Tech Car Care center was destroyed last week after a driverless truck drove into it. Luckily, the accident happened in the early hours of the day, when the wash was still closed. An hour or two later and people could have been killed.
According to local station Chadron Radio the driver was unloading his semi truck at Skeeter’s NAPA Auto Parts at the top of a hill when the vehicle began to roll across the parking lot.
The heavy truck then rolled across Maple Street, struck another truck that was parked further down the road and eventually hit the north bay of the Hi-Tech Car Care car wash. The entire car wash bay had to be lifted in order to free the wrecked truck.
Luckily it was early in the morning so there was hardly any traffic on the streets. No injuries were reported. According to the local police, the truck driver forgot to set his brakes.
