German eye-catching service station modernized

Two eye-catching aircrafts sit on top of the service station ORLEN

German service station operator ORLEN has extensively refurbished a service station in Leverkusen. It wants to be a port of call for customers to “refuel in a relaxed ambience”. Convenience and the range of services offered to customers were the top priorities in the site’s concept. The car wash is now based on ‘Drive-In’ and ‘Wash & Pay’.

It’s not hard to find The ORLEN service station on Alkenrather Straße in Leverkusen. Just keep an eye open for two huge aircrafts sitting on top of a building. The tenant of the service station, Cevahir Genc, imported an Antonov AN2 aircraft from Poland via a friend in 2005 and set it up on his premises. A few years later, the historic aircraft was joined by a huge helicopter, which now forms the crown jewel on the roof of the service station.

Recently, the service station has been extensively remodeled and the interior now also appears new, modern and is designed to appeal to customers with a special range of services.

Feel-good ambience

The centerpiece of the remodeling is the new bisto area ‘stop. café’, which invites customers to take a proper break with coffee specialties, hot and cold snacks, as well as Polish zapiekanka, sandwiches and brodies, and a variety of other items in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. The modern design in warm wood tones and with various seating options invites you to linger.

Drive-in

The existing gantry car wash was not renewed, but the payment system was modernised. It now offers a service that is in demand for many customers. With the ‘Drive-In’ and ‘Wash & Pay’ offers, wash customers can drive directly into the facility when it is avaiable. Payment is conveniently made while the wash has already started or afterwards.

According to ORLEN Germany, the ‘Drive-In’ offer is a response to the customer request of about half of the clientele who prefer to remain seated in the vehicle during the wash. This is now also possible in their gantry car wash, which was installed by WashTec about five years ago.
It offers a wash height of 2.70 m and is therefore also suitable for vans. In the self-service vehicle care area, customers have access to four vacuum stations, three wash boxes and high-pressure cleaners.
