New York investors buy Squeeky’s Car Wash

Squeeky's uses a yellow duck as their mascotte.

Squeeky’s Car Wash in St. Petersburg, Florida has been bought by Andover Properties. The New York-based investment company plans to expand the three-decades-old brand.

Squeeky’s (not to be confused with Squeeky Clean in the state of New York) currently only has one location in Florida. But that might change soon, according to an article in The Business Observer.

It says the New York-based buyer Andover Properties would not disclose how much it spent on the car wash at 3264 Tyrone Blvd. N., but according to Pinellas County records, it paid $4.12 million for the property on a busy road.

The latest purchase grows the firm’s car wash portfolio to five locations. They also own Froggy’s Car Wash and Ultimate Car Wash.

Squeeky’s first opened in 1990. Since then, the company has been family owned and operated.

According to Business Observer, Andover specializes in self-storage facilities, manufactured housing, RV parks and car washes.

As part of the deal, it also bought the company’s intellectual property including the alluring name.
