German Automechanika attracts 78,000 visitors

The trade fair floor Messe Frankfurt

The event Automechanika in the German city of Frankfurt hosted 78,000 international automotive professionals from 175 countries last week. Spread over five days 2,804 companies from 70 countries presented their products and services.

“Things are clearly moving in the right direction”, a satisfied Detlef Braun, who is a member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, looked back on the trade fair. “Together with our customers and our international partners, we are optimistic about the future.” “Nothing can take the place of trade fairs,” he continues. “The participants also took full advantage of the new networking opportunities to finally meet in person and make new business contacts.”

Digitalization

This year’s Automechanika focused on current topics such as digitalization, remanufacturing, alternative drive systems and electromobility in particular, all topics that present automotive workshops and retailers with major challenges. For the first time, more than 350 activities were offered, including presentations by new market players and free workshops for automotive professionals.

Climate-friendly mobility

On the first day of the exhibition, there was a special CEO Breakfast event. Formula One professionals Mika Häkkinen and Mark Gallagher delivered insights for an industry that is changing faster than ever. “In these turbulent times, the industry needs new insights and new ideas”, Detlef Braun realises. “After all, the goal is to ensure that everyone can enjoy the safest, most sustainable and climate-friendly mobility in the future.”
Automechanika Frankfurt is held every other year. That means the next trade fair for the international automotive aftermarket will take place from September 10 to 14, 2024.
