A British man who kept 5.1 tonnes of meat in his hand car wash in Wiltshire has been ordered to pay back more than £150,000.
Last year, the former army reservist was allready given a six month prison sentence after pleading guilty to 39 food hygiene offenses. A city offical called it “one of the worst cases that our food and safety team have dealt with”.
After an investigation they found that joints of beef and lamb were cut up in car washes across Wiltshire while surrounded by oil and dog waste.

A total of 5.1 tonnes of meat was seized from his premises and condemned for destruction.

The court concluded the owner had gained significant financial benefit from his offending and was found to have made £154,342.62 with £3,500 available for immediate confiscation.
