German gas station with car wash wins prestigious prize

The 33 meter long tunnel of Markant washes 40.000 cars a year.

The Markant service station in Lüdinghausen has been named service station of the year in the “Washing” category by the German trade magazine Tankstelle.

The award was recently presented at the “Tankstelle und Mittelstand” trade fair in Essen. “We are very pleased to receive this award, because it confirms that we have a future-proof, innovative and sustainable concept that stands out”, says Andre Stracke, Head of Mobility at Westfalen. Markant is one of the many so-called Mobility Hubs in the Westfalen Group.

The German business magazine praised the Markant station in Lüdinghausen at Selmer Straße 12 for their sustainable approach of car washing. Their 33 meter long express tunnel uses only 20 liters of water per car, which is afterwards recycled via biological filters. Markant washes about 40,000 cars a year, so this makes a difference.

Wash bays and vacuum stations

For those who would rather wash their cars themselves, there are four covered self-service wash bays and a care hall for professional vehicle interior cleaning. Markant also offers twelve covered vacuum stations with compressed air guns and automatic mat cleaners.

“An outstanding wash concept, which has distinguished itself this year in the highly coveted competition through a great deal of commitment, passion and ingenuity,” emphasized laudator Andreas Strömer from the company Stracke Ladenbau.

Mobility Hubs

The Markant service station was opened just two years ago and is now one of numerous Mobility Hubs in the Westfalen Group. At Mobility Hubs, alternative mobility energies are combined with a wide range of sustainable products and services.

One of them being car washing.
