Washos buys Sparkl
Sparkl Car Wash has just been bought by Washos. Both are American companies specializing in mobile detailing and car cleaning. Sparkle is one of the many waterless wash companies that popped up in recent years.
Sparkl was founded by Chicago mom Lisa Souter who just had enough of riding in her dirty, Cheerio-ridden car. According to her bio on the Sparkle website, Souter is not a car enthusiast but “just someone who understood the busy schedules of parents and professionals who would rather not spend time waiting in line at the car wash.”
Mobile detailing
Washos calls itself a leader in expert mobile detailing and car wash services and mainly operates in Southern California. Their mobile detailing teams visit car owners at home or wherever the car is that needs to be cleaned and polished.
California is struck by persistent water shortage, a subject which will only get more urgent in the future.
Spray
A waterless car wash is a high lubricity pre-mixed spray detailer that is used to heavily saturate a panel and then you carefully wipe any dirt or road grime off to a dry shine. Waterless washes should only be used on vehicles with light dirt accumulation. They’re a fast way to clean vehicles between washes.
One of the biggest players in waterless washing is NoH20. We wrote an article about them last year.
