Lot of damage in Boston car wash after attempted theft

Thief tries to break money box Boston25News

Anyone who has information about the motorcyclist who tried to break into the money boxes of two car washes near Boston, will probably enjoy free car washes for years.

On the surveillance video of the car wash you can clearly see a suspect using power tools to try to break into money boxes at two Prestige Car Wash and Gas Stations, last Saturday morning. News site Boston25 is reporting about it.

The first attempt was in a self-serve bay at the location in Stoughton. The second attempt followed after the suspect drove his motorcycle to the Prestige Car Wash in Canton. Both towns lie close to Boston, on the east coast of the US

Lot of damage

Even though the suspect didn’t get away with cash, the company says there’s significant damage to the money machine, which is worth $40,000. The suspect probably used an electrical saw when he tried to penetrate the box.
Since the money box is quite sturdy with about 3 or 4 inches of metal, it would have taken the suspect a few hours before he could reach the money. So in the end, he didn’t get away with cash.

The suspect removed the plates from his motorbike before he started his illegal operation. But if anyone recognizes the green helmet with the Irish logo or the motorbike, they should get in touch with Prestige.
