Camera arch gives operators more grip on damage claims

BigBrother is launching the VehicleCheck, a camera arch that allows car wash operators to check whether damages were there before a wash. This gives operators a better grip on damage claims in the car washes, says the security company from the Netherlands.

VehicleCheck consists of a combination of ‘the unique functionalities of CleanWatch video technology’ and camera surveillance hardware. It is the first car wash arch around. Several cameras are attached to the arch. The system is placed at the beginning of the car wash. Because of the construction, cars can be filmed from every angle and unfounded damage claims can be fished out afterwards. The images can be retrieved after a wash by searching for a time or a license plate number. In addition, the cameras are integrated with the cash register.

Annoyance

“Finally, there is a solution for our customers to directly access the images that prove whether the car was damaged before it entered the car wash. It sounds like a silly detail, but it is one of the biggest annoyances a car wash has to deal with”, says Dennis Klarenbeek, commercial specialist of video solutions at BigBrother. According to BigBrother, the time saved can be used to enhance the customer experience by paying more attention to other consumers and hospitality.

Camera arch

VehicleCheck uses the integrated software modules of CleanWatch. CleanWatch is BigBrother’s own technology and forms the core of this solution. According to the company, BigBrother’s solutions have been developed with safety as the top priority.

There are currently two car wash arches installed in the Netherlands. These are located at CarwashA2 Zaltbommel and Tank- en Autowascentrum Zwart. The intention is to roll out the concept further in the coming period, also internationally. There are now four pilots for large carwash locations in Europe.
