A TikTok video showing a Range Rover being washed by a rollover with the tailgate open has now reached nearly five million views. The clip shows footage from a surveillance camera.

The wash of a German Range Rover Evoque ends in minor disaster. The surveillance footage shows the tailgate opening after the washing process has begun. It is not clear why the door opens. Possibly a sensor picked up something wrong or the owner accidentally pressed the button on the key.

At first, things go well for a while, but when the roof roller starts its retreat, the tailgate is folded completely over the roof. The repair will not be cheap for the driver – it will probably not be taken care of by the car wash operator.

In the reactions to the clip, many TikTokkers wonder why the owner of the Range Rover did not simply press the emergency stop button on the car wash when he noticed the accident. Others react with irony. A few comments: “At least the boot is now also cleaned from the inside”, “Interior cleaning usually costs extra”, “That is why we prefer hand washing – it is more thorough and above all cheaper”.
