Orlen obtains 100 Austrian car washes

ORLEN rollover wash ORLEN

With the acquisition of Doppler Energie, Orlen is suddenly running hundred car washes in Austria. With the takeover, the Polish multinational is officially entering Austria’s fuel retail market.

The hundred car washes are part of the two 267 service stations across the country that were reeled in by Orlen. The purchase has grown its international network up to nearly 3,500 outlets throughout Europe.

The Group is now exploring additional acquisition opportunities in the region and is taking steps to establish itself as a leader in electromobility within the Austrian market.

“We have become one of the top three players in the Austrian fuel market, boasting a retail market share of approximately 10%”, said Daniel Obajtek, CEO and President of Orlen’s Management Board. “The transaction propels us beyond the 98% mark of our strategic 2030 target for the number of service stations in the region.”

Turmstrom

The now obtained Austrian fuel retail network includes 110 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across 34 locations, operating under the Turmstrom brand. Almost half of the acquired service stations are self-service facilities and 40 locations are equipped with solar PV panels.

The transaction further included the acquisition of Austrocard, a fuel card provider serving both private and business customers.
