Is Kärcher opening a factory in India?

Kärcher is growing rapidly in India, we learn from an interesting interview with Jatinder Kaul, managing director of Karcher India. “We are committed to doubling our workforce by 2030.”

Since the German cleaning company landed in India back in 2011, Kärcher has shown fast financial growth. It reached an impressive three billion Euros in revenue in 2021, we learn from the interview with Bizz Buzz. A local factory seems the next step. Kaul:  “Kärcher India is exploring local manufacturing and cost optimization, potentially establishing a manufacturing unit in India”. The managing director then continues to tell Kärcher also wants to expand their distribution network by doubling the number of partners in the next 4-5 years. They are also expanding its training facilities in Noida, where Kärcher holds office.

Sustainability

Sadly, Kaul mentions next to nothing about Kärchers car wash ambitions in India, even though the German company is quite active in that field on the Asian market.

He does touch the main subject in the cleaning industry right now: sustainability. “We are prioritizing sustainable manufacturing materials to lower our ecological footprint and are minimizing waste through durable design”, the Indian managing director states. He also mentions ‘eco-friendly packaging’ and points out Kärcher is involved in the preservation of historical sites, by cleaning them.”

AI-cleaning

Asked about future innovations we learn a thing or two as well about Kärcher’s ambitions. They are investing in improved mapping (of cleaning locations) and AI-driven autonomous cleaning, in which machines are smart enough to choose between wet or dry cleaning and can adapt to various surfaces.
