Germany breaks car washing world record
They did it! HEM set a new world record in car washing last Friday. With 10,199 car washes in under eight hours, the German service station company broke the previous world record of 7,197 car washes. This record was set in 2019 by NAPA in the USA.
“We are thrilled with the response and enthusiasm of our customers,” says HEM Managing Director Carsten Pohl. “Thanks to their support, we have brought the world record to Germany. It was an unforgettable day full of energy, excitement and community.”
The campaign day attracted visitors with an unbeatable offer: each car wash was just five euros. No wonder the HEM car washes were filled up from morning to night. From soaking to washing to drying, all the washing processes ran like clockwork. The company saw a lot of happy customers leaving their car washes.

RID
The world record attempt was closely watched by the Record Institute for Germany (RID). At the end of the day, RID record judge Ricarda Pastuszek certified the new world record by presenting the RID certificate for the “most car washes at different venues (within 8 hours)”.
“This record is not just a triumph for HEM, but for the whole of Germany,” emphasizes Pohl. “It shows how much fun and cohesion there is in a common goal.” According to Pohl, Germany not only has the best car manufacturers but also the cleanest vehicles and the most committed drivers.
