Belgian car wash association merges into Traxio

By merging with Traxio, BBRV hopes to increase their lobby power.

The Belgian Professional Association for Cleaning Vehicles (BBRV), is merging into the mobility federation Traxio. BBRV is committed to improving conditions for the car wash industry and is also the point of contact with the government. To carry more weight and get more things done, the association has now partnered with Traxio.

“We are convinced that together we can achieve more and do more for our members,” said Guy Proost, president of the association and owner of XL Carwash. The association was founded in July 2017 by and for entrepreneurs from the Belgian car wash industry. Nowadays, it represents more than 50 wash locations in Belgium.

Proost: “We are proud that BBRV was founded back then and we have done some useful work along the way. But during the pandemic we had to effectively close down the business. Which was a substantial difference from surrounding countries like the Netherlands and Germany, where the car washes were alowed to remain open.”

Thanks to connections of our own members, we were able to pull some strings politically”, Proost continues. But in the end it had little or no effect, he admits. They needed more leverage. “A partnership with TraxiO provides us with a greater means of pressure to get things done in government. There will now be a continuous lobby for things we want to see accomplished.”

About Traxio

Traxio is the federation of the automotive and related sectors in Belgium. With a team of nearly 35 experts, the organization provides support to nearly 4,500 companies, mainly active in the field of mobility.

The federation protects the interests of the sector and ensures, among other things through active lobbying, that decision-making is supported in the professional activity of an organization or company.
