Drunk driver destroys Sydney car wash
Employees of the Rainbow Car Wash in Sydney got the scare of their lives last week when, seemingly out of nowhere, a passenger car strayed from the main road and drove into the facade of the wash. The accident caused tens of thousand Australian dollars worth of damage.
In the process, the driver nearmissed six employees. Footage from the surveillance camera, released by 9 News, shows a man, standing behind the facade washing his car, got off with a fright.
The 25-year-old driver then tried to flee on foot. Probably because – as it turned out later – he had four times the allowable amount of alcohol in his blood. “We have about $30,000 worth of damage,” the owner says. “Probably we are closed for weeks, since the water supply also got damaged.”
