Wilcomatic brings Christ Skyline to UK

Wilcomatic Wash Systems has just installed their first Skyline wash system in the UK. Quality Hand Car Wash in Kingsteignton will soon run on the Christ installation. According to Wilcomatic’s David Nuth it’s a clear sign the car wash business in the UK is changing.

The Skyline range of Christ is a versatile self wash system built in steel. “It’s not a system we have sold before in the past because of the high number of hand car washes in the UK ”, he tells Carwashpro. “However, this situation is changing. It follows the trend I am seeing elsewhere where operators cannot hire or retain hand car washers anymore. A lot of their staff have returned home to Eastern Europe now, and British workers seek other forms of employment.”

Temporarily closed

In order to manage the upgrades and install all the machines properly, Quality Hand Car Wash has been closed since last April but hopes to reopen soon. According to Nuth, the car wash owner is situated on a very busy retail site which will mean a high level of footfall.

“Our client has elected to purchase and install a fully self service / automated facility with a Christ Alpha rollover car wash, 8 bay vacuum bay and three self service jet washes with contactless payment terminals. One of the self service jet wash bays can be used to clean commercial vehicles.”

According to Wilcomatic, one of the self wash bays in Kingsteignton will be covered while the other two are in the open.

Umbrella company

Wilcomatic Wash Systems is an umbrella company, with a rail, bus & truck, consumer and retail-division. They supply wash systems to both small garages and a few of the largest companies in the world.

The company expects to install many more Skylines in the UK in the near future.

The renewed Quality Hand Car Wash on Pottery Road in Kingsteignton should be open for business again on the 3rd of July.
