The rainforest is disappearing…in Ohio
Whistle Express Car Wash has just taken over five of the six Rainforest Car Wash locations in Ohio. All car washes will be getting an upgrade and will be rebranded to the Whistle style.
The acquisition means that Whistle Express is more than doubling its portfolio in the Cleveland-Akron market.
The new Whistle Express car washes will be located at:
- 2888 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland Heights, Ohio
- 5133 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, Ohio
- 1505 Traveler’s Pt., Avon, Ohio
- 3365 Center Rd., Brunswick, Ohio
- 2696 Medina Rd., Medina, Ohio
The company will convert these carwashes to Whistle Express later this year, investing in upgraded wash technology and new signage, and it will host grand opening events to celebrate.
Once the washes are officially open, customers can access the Whistle car wash by downloading the Whistle Express app, the press release says.
Rapid changes
The car wash industry is seeing rapid changes. More and more investors see opportunities to take what has historically been a fragmented business comprising thousands of independent operators.
Whistle Express has become the 10th-largest car wash operator in America. The company has plans to more than double its size in the next couple of years.
The acquisition means a considerable trim of the Rainforest-locations, leaving only the location in Mentor. It’s unclear what will happen with this car wash.
