WashTec: “We tackle the process from start to finish”.

WashTec has a bright outlook on 2024

WashTec is looking forward to a year filled with opportunities in the Benelux. Not only when it comes to sales of machines and chemicals, but also in terms of digitalization and sustainability. As every year, service and technology will also play a leading role. “We always try to be ahead of the game and be innovative.”

Our colleagues from Carwashpro.nl got to speak with Marco Binnekamp, who is Sales Manager at WashTec Benelux. They asked him how the year went. “In the end, it was a good year. The start was a little hesitant. People were a bit reluctant to invest in new machines. Then we had fantastic weather in May and people seemed to realize that car washing is and will remain a good business. The same goes for our AUWA chemicals.”

What innovations did you bring to the table?

“We have made a huge effort in terms of sustainability again this year. All our products have been converted to sustainable raw materials. I can also safely say that WashTec is a pioneer in the industry in this respect. We go the extra mile when it comes to marketing and saying we are sustainable. We take the entire process into consideration. From start to finish, from production to delivery to the customer.

“We have come a long way in terms of technology and digitalization. For example, we are working on the Mywashtec.com platform. This will allow us to do much more remotely and help the customer to get started more easily and quickly on a technical level. All new machines are equipped with a remote connection. This allows us to see exactly what is going on, often before the customer notices it. This means you can react proactively.”

How are you dealing with changes in the industry?

“Water recycling has not been a top priority in the Netherlands, but we are seeing a clear change. Anyone who is going to invest now is at least thinking about it. That wasn’t the case a year and a half ago. We also always give the advice to at least make preparations. So that it will be relatively easy to invest in recycling later on.”

How does WashTec stay distinctive?

“We try – and succeed quite well – to be at the forefront with innovations in hardware and software. From next year, the new modular technology for our JetWash will be ready. And we will continue to expand the Mywashtec.com platform, for example.”

“Another area where WashTec remains distinctive is in service. We have a very professional technical service that gets the customer washing again very quickly – especially in the event of a breakdown, often on the same day. We have a strong position in this area and our customers perceive this in a positive way.”

Where do the opportunities lay?

“In the midst of the energy transition, you see that car washing remains a very robust business. So there are always opportunities. And we believe that will only increase.”

What are your expectations for 2024?

“We have a positive view of the year and expect to grow again. With good service and the right products, we hope that the next machine will be another WashTec and the chemistry will come from AUWA.”
