LED: Sustainable entertainment in the car wash
Everyone with kids knows: car washing is entertainment. Whether it’s a rollover or tunnel, they will never forget their first car wash with mom or dad. German car wash manufacturer and supplier WashTec tapped in on this and offers a variety of visual entertainment in the car wash.
The company offers something they call ‘economical LED lighting’. Apart from being fun, it’s also environmentally conscious, says WashTec. “By using LED you avoid having to add dyes to the foam.” And that’s important, if you want to run a sustainable car wash. Color foam cannot be recycled, which is undesirable in installations with a water recycling process such as rollovers and car washes.
What about wash bays then? “In wash bays, it can be done”, they say. “But by using LED you have the advantages of the show effect, without the disadvantages of color foam. Much more environmentally conscious.”

LED technology is programmable, allowing you to achieve the show effect. The changing colors and light effects can distinguish the different steps of the washing process. “The effect is at least as fun and a lot more sustainable,” according to the German manufacturer. The LED lighting works well in conjunction with WashTec’s FoamSensation. This creates a colorful, illuminated foam curtain in the car wash.
