Car Wash Innovation Award: what can you vote for?

The finalists for the Car Wash Innovation of the Year Award will present their innovations during the Car Wash Show Europe. Trade show visitors can vote for their favorite. CarwashPro gives a sneak peek at which innovations will be competing for the title.

In the coming weeks, the innovations will be presented in hree categories: sustainability, digitalization and technology. Finalists in the digitalization category are Tracs Systems, JAWS-IT, eWashClub and Repsol. What are their innovations and why is it relevant to the carwash industry?

PayWashGo: more than a payment solution

Belgian company Tracs Systems specializes in payment solutions. The innovation they are presenting for a chance to win the award is called PayWashGo. “PayWashGo is much more than a payment solution,” the company explains. “It is the beating heart of the car wash, connecting all management aspects. From a warm welcome to smart marketing tools, contactless handling and clear accounting.”

JES Carwash & Cleaning already uses PayWashGo: “It is a huge added value for our carwash. We used to have to process everything manually and now it’s automatic. The whole process from checkout to processing and forwarding to the accountant is done in no time. The automatic discount offers are also a great success and easy to set up.”

Gacha Planner: optimizing the planning process

JAWS-IT from the Netherlands provides IT service to carwash companies, among other things. The innovation they hope to win the battle with is the Gacha Planner. “A unique innovative solution to make planning simple,” the company says.

For many carwashes, the first-come, first-served principle applies. So whoever enters the carwash first is first in line. Yet, there are more and more carwash companies that also offer additional services, such as a thorough hand wash, micro repairs, car polishing, interior treatments or VIP packages. “These are all services that require appointments. And services that require planning. We focus exactly on these processes. We look at problems that other online schedulers cannot solve, such as duplicate bookings – something you might recognize from your own Outlook calendar. Or the energy it takes to get your own schedule in order. And so we introduced an innovative solution that changes the game: Gacha Planner.”

AI-based

Gacha Planner allows carwash customers to schedule their appointments online, JAWS-IT explains. “Easily, quickly and at their convenience. eWashClub: improving car wash experience with app

Italy’s eWashClub aims to bridge the gap between capacity and demand. And at the same time improve the car wash experience for users and provide a mutually beneficial platform for both end users and car wash operators. “We are a startup in the carwash industry and, in collaboration with BeaconMobile – now acquired by DRB – we have developed a groundbreaking system that will revolutionize the carwash landscape,” said eWashClub founder Alessandro Mittone.

The system includes three components:

User-friendly mobile app that serves as a front-end for end users and caters to the needs of B2C, B2B users and operators alike. With this app, customers can access various features and services related to car washing
24Ă—7 customer service system, powered by artificial intelligence, available to quickly answer 90 percent of user inquiries. The remaining 10 percent of inquiries, typically claims and complaints, are answered within 48 hours
A centralized marketing platform works to bring new customers to connected car washes, committing to a 30 percent increase in customers within the first six months
Empowering women
The benefits for end users, according to Mittone, include time and cost savings, the ability to book services that meet their specific needs, access to verified reviews and the convenience of managing their account balance. eWashClub also aims to empower women by making carwash services more accessible and user-friendly.

Waylet: all services through one app

Within its own gas station network, Spain’s Repsol has worked hard in recent years to build a strong homogeneous network of convenience stores and gas stations. But in the meantime, the carwash business remained untouched. “Therefore, in 2019, we decided to renovate our carwashes and create a homogeneous and digitized network, along with a new image, under the name Repsol Klin,” Repsol said.

“We digitized the car washes of our gas stations by connecting all our washing equipment (conveyors, rollovers, wash bays and vacuums) to our mobile app Waylet. Regardless of the age, make or model of the equipment. This way, customers can not only buy carwash service with the Repsol app, but also start the equipment by scanning a QR code on each item.”

6 million users

Waylet now offers 6 million users access to and payment for all multi-energy services. From fuel to e-mobility charging sessions, parking, convenience stores, ECI stores and car washes at Repsol Klin. Repsol currently has 250 carwashes and that number continues to grow. “We will end this year with 300 Repsol Klin stations, which will make us the largest carwash network in Spain.
