Freak accident in Pennsylvania car wash
A car wash in Colmar had to put up the ‘temporarily closed’-sign this week after a freak accident, in which a car ended sideways in the tunnel. The driver was brought to the hospital with leg injuries. The car wash equipment became quite damaged, but they managed to reopen again on Thursday.
The accident happened in the Wave Car Wash in Colmar, Pennsylvania and left many puzzled of how this could happen.

According to car wash employees, the 77-year-old man apparently forgot to put his car into park mode. Then he hit the gas, causing the car to flip onto its side. The man was trapped for about 90 minutes before he was rescued in the late afternoon.
Epic
“I can’t even imagine the process of having a car turn over inside a car wash,” said a waiting car wash client to 6 ABC Action News. “I don’t think it’s ever happened before.”
One of the washes offered by Wave Car Wash is called ‘Epic’. It certainly turned out that way, though this was probably not what the car wash owners had in mind when they labeled the wash experience.
UPDATE: After repairs were finished, the family-run Wave Car Wash openend for business again on Thursday the 5th.
The incident once again illustrates how important it is to follow instructions in a car wash.
