Four wash bays making waves in the local news

The tilted design of the Tertis raises eyebrows in the UK. Carbana

Local inhabitants in Royal Wootoon Bassett apparently can’t stop talking about the new Carbana’s Car Wash.  According to local newspaper The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald, the unusual design has gained a lot of attention. Car wash professionals probably recognize the hand of a certain car wash supplier from Croatia in it. Carbana is new in the car wash business, but has huge ambitions.

According to the newspaper, the Coped Hall site in Royal Wootton Bassett has been a hotspot for development in the civil parish near the city of Swindon. It now hosts a care home and two supermarkets, but Carbana’s car wash, with its slanted structure, is undoubtedly the most unusual-looking development to come to the town.

Deplorable state

Carbana started based on the belief that car washes in the UK could be much better,” said Wayne Munnelly, former managing director of IMO Car Wash Group. Many car washes in Great Britain are either rollovers next to supermarkets or hand car washes with little care for the environment. Carbana wants to do things differently.

Founder and CEO of Carbana is Simon Moxon. Along with Munnelly, he understood that the UK hand car washes were in a deplorable state. Substandard and inconsistent quality with ineffective hardware and no emphasis on environmental issues. They thought there must be a better way

Munnely said to the newspaper that Royal Wootton Bassett is their first location. “We will also be starting the build on our second site in Northamptonshire, and eventually our plan is to roll this across the UK and have 100 locations,” he added.

Shift boundaries

Carwash professionals probably recognize the tilted design as the Tertis by Croatian car wash company Adriateh. Munnelly: “The design of the building is different. We wanted to stand out from the crowd and make car washing different in more ways than one. Our intention was to design a car wash that shifts the boundaries of what is logical, and provides something eccentric.”

The new Carbana car wash will also host a dog wash

Apart from offering four self-wash bays, Carbana also hosts a dog wash and a self-use laundromat which includes two washing machines and a large dryer.

Furthermore, Carbara promises to be more sustainable than other UK car washes and offer a safe working environment.

Royal Wootton Bassett’s new eco car wash will be officially opened by the town mayor on Friday, October 13.
