Sonax expands production capacity and logistics in Germany
German polish manufacturer Sonax is investing around 60 million euros in the next few years to expand its storage and production capacity in Oberhausen. The work is expected to be completed by 2025.
A new logistics center was already completed last October in Oberhausen. That’s just a few kilometers from Neuburg an der Donau, where you will find the company’s headquarters. According to Manfred Hoffmann, managing partner of Sonax GmbH, the expansion is necessary to be able to deliver reliably and flexibly and to continue to meet the continuously growing demand. “The location is close to the headquarters, has identical transport routes to our sales markets, creates jobs in the region and follows our strategic focus on growth.”

The company’s logistics are fully digitized and automated. The twelve-meter-high hall accommodates 25,000 items and is equipped with the latest safety and energy technology. Adequate storage of hazardous materials, a fire water pumping station and sprinkler system. The 24 stainless steel tanks have a capacity of 1.2 million cubic meters of raw materials. The whole infrastructure is designed for future production expansions.
Right next to the new storage building, another building complex for additional production facilities is now rising on an area of 5,000 mĀ².
However, the majority of production will continue to take place in Neuburg. Around 300 people are employed there.
