Car wash employee ends up in IC after accident

A 41-year-old car wash employee in the American city of Verona ended up in surgical intensive care after he was struck by a car in front of his workplace. The accident happened last weekend, according to the local police.

Authorities said the employee was cleaning a car in the driveway of the business when a vehicle strayed off the roadway and hit him. Then the car went on striking two other vehicles and crashing into a utility pole. The employee was thrown 50 feet, police said.

The victim sustained “serious injuries” and the driver, a 75-year-old man, was later taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
