UNITI has adopted a new name. The German association of small- and medium-sized mineral oil companies acknowledges the energy transition and decided this also has to resonate in its name, which from now on is UNITI Bundesverband EnergieMittelstand e.V.

In the past, mineral oil as a raw material and fuel was UNITI’s main focus. So I was pretty logical it was part of their name.
But the world has changed. UNITI’s member companies nowadays have a much broader base. In addition to conventional, mineral oil-based fuels, combustibles and lubricants, they offer numerous other products that are increasingly based on renewable energies in line with the energy transition.

Customers can sign contracts for gas or green electricity with medium-sized energy companies, buy wood chips and pellets, and even purchase the first non-fossil liquid energy sources such as HVO.

‘Ramp-up’

Medium-sized energy companies are diversifying their products and have been transforming their business for years. “As an association, we are supporting the framework for this transformation and, among other things, are committed to the ramp-up of renewable biogenic and green power-based energy sources,” said UNITI Managing Director Elmar Kühn.According to him it’s only logical UNITI changed their name. The decision was unanimous. Together with the new name, the company will also refresh their logo.
