Renewed appeal  to solve car wash killing

In the UK, the police have made renewed appeals to track down the killers of a man who was shot in a Sheffield car wash two years ago. 

According to local newspaper YorkshireLive, the murder happened on March 29, 2022. That day, 21-year-old Lamar Leroy Griffiths died from his injuries after multiple gun shots were fired at Diamond Hand Car Wash in Sheffield.

After a murder investigation several arrests were made. Two people pleaded guilty for assisting an offender. But the people responsible for the murder are yet to be brought before the courts.

On the two-year anniversary of Lamar’s death, South Yorkshire Police are renewing their appeal for information surrounding Lamar’s death. Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Bowell, who is the Senior Investigating Officer for this case, said: “Lamar was sitting in a BMW parked in the car wash when two suspects fired several gunshots towards the car.

“Lamar suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, with the shooting happening at around 6.45pm. I want to implore anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch so we can secure justice for Lamar’s loved ones.

Anyone with information in connection with the death of Lamar can reach the police via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 774 of 29 March 2022. Witnesses can also email CCTV or dashcam footage to enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk, quoting the same incident number in the email subject line.
