A three-year-old child was seriously injured last weekend during an accident on the premises of a car wash in Bohmte in the district of Osnabrück, Germany. 

According to news magazine Stern, a 59-year-old man reversed his car out of a wash box. The car hit the boy, who was behind the vehicle. The child was seriously injured.

Police and emergency services quicklyarrived at the scene. According to initial findings, the child was in the self-service car wash with another person who was cleaning their vehicle in a neighboring wash box.

The police have started an investigation and are examining, among other things, whether the 59-year-old could have noticed the child.
