The success of Soapy Joe’s disabled staff programm
Soapy Joe’s Car Wash is making a special effort to employ people with disabilities. For this reason, the American car wash company recently partnered with PRIDE Industries. This company employs disabled people nationwide.
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) in the US. It will probably not come as news to you if we state that many people with disabilities have a hard time finding a job. Even now, when the economy is in full swing, disabled people are often last in line when it comes to employment. On this matter, the car wash industry is no different.
Many companies hold back because of prejudiced ideas. Like: this disabled employer will probably be less productive. Or I (being the employer) need to invest in special chairs, customized workstations or wheelchair ramps.
The Pride program takes care of these issues. If it’s about work access, speech software or other adjustments, Pride Industries will assist employers, while at the same time they help you find the perfect candidate.
Salesperson of the month
Soapy Joe’s knows all the above, because they already hired 16 employees through the PRIDE program. The San Diego-based car wash company is more than happy with their disabled employees. They turn out to be reliable, trustworthy and friendly. One of their disabled employees has been the top membership salesperson for four months in a row, they confirmed.
So if you are a car wash owner and have trouble finding reliable staff, you might want to consider getting in touch with Pride Industries.
